I spent a good part of my high school years making mixtapes for my friends, but I started making DJ mixes in 2025 to fight against the increased distribution of AI music and playlists. I've despaired the idea of AI music paving over the musical achievements of past and future, and hope that someone might find their new favorite artist through something I create. AI has not touched any part of my process, including this website.

I currently have no aspirations of doing a live set. It's a bit high-minded, but I see myself as more of a curator than a performer: where showcasing others' art takes utmost priority. I could imagine myself someday playing for a small party or livestream, but for now, I only want to make mixes. The mixes I make are recorded under ideal conditions with multiple attempts, making what I loosely refer to as a idealized set, or a "dream set". These sets could be performed live, but I have the luxury of restarting my set when I fuck up. I hope that recording my set in a single take keeps the performative spirit alive in my work and gives me the experience I need if I ever decide to do something live.

My pursuit of creating some sort of art has only emboldened my passions. Now I feel more curious, hungry, and overall, more alive than I ever felt in my 20s. If I'm someday able to create something I can call "art" then I'll be able to die happy.
